Week 2: Lab 1

Toy Blocks Modeling

Exercise 1 :

Learning how to do some basic block shapes

Basic block shapes

Exercise 2 :
Using Boolean and Beveling objects to make a
toy train

Reflection :  This is a very fun exercise that allowed me to see how various shapes can be combined to form an object. I am amazed by how a polygon can be transformed into many different forms. Did not face major difficulty when constructing the train.

  1. Hi Serene, it's great that you've managed to assemble a train! The point of getting you to work on the blocks first in Exercise 1 is to get you to create blocks with soft edges (as a result of the "Bevel" process) and then assemble the train (Exercise 2) with the blocks that you've created in Exercise 1. As you noticed, the edges of the blocks of your train look really sharp. Improve it so it looks like the one on the Exercise worksheet, where the train is made up of blocks with soft edges :)
